CAD Software Developer Intern

Salary Unpaid

A well-performing prosthesis is vital for lower limb amputees in ensuring independence, mobility, and quality of life. Each prosthesis is unique and custom-made to the amputee, but arriving at a good fit is a complex and time-consuming process. Snapform is providing a solution to support the prosthetists in arriving at an optimal design in less time and enable more advanced designs using 3D printing technology.

What we are looking for

We are currently looking for Master or Bachelor students with a background in Computer Science, Mathematics or similar field with a good handle on linear algebra and computational geometry to help us develop our CAD software.

You will work with implementing algorithms for 3D meshes including local refinements, boolean operations, optimization of surface topology and parametrization of surfaces. Experience with Matlab is an advantage, but not a strict requirement.

What we are offering

We are offering an unpaid internship or a partnership on special courses, master or bachelor thesis for ETCS points.

We are situated in Futurebox at DTU in Lyngby together with many other high-tech startups.

You will be able to experience being part of a start-up and the energetic ecosystem as well as help us bring a solution to market that will fundamentally change the industry and improve the lives of lower limb amputees.

Snapform

Snapform believes that technology can improve the lives of amputees. We are constantly seeking to challenge the status quo and improve amputees’ mobility. Today most prosthetic sockets are handcrafted based on experience and trail-and-error, which is very costly. We have developed a new digital prosthetic design engine called Snapform SimFit that can calculate the optimal shape of a prosthetic socket using a patient-specific simulation. The ability to digitally design sockets enables cost-effective industrial processes such as 3D print, making high-quality prosthetics accessible to everybody. The first patients are already successfully using our sockets and we are now looking to commercialise the technology further.
