You will be working in a team of bioinformaticians and play an important role in the development of PIONEER, Evaxion’s platform for identifying neoepitopes for personalized cancer immunotherapies. Specifically, you will be working with WES data analysis and variant calling. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that the quality of our variant calling pipeline is always on par with current state-of-the-art technology. Additionally, you will participate in creative discussions with the team to exchange knowledge and feedback on innovative sequencing-based ideas and projects.

Your responsibilities

• Contribute to identification, interpretation and prioritization of somatic variants from clinical samples
• Benchmark internal and external tools and designs regarding variant calling
• Contribute to agile development and documentation of the PIONEER platform
• Develop state-of-the art variant calling technologies for the PIONEER platform
• Keep Evaxion up-to-date on state-of-the art NGS tools and methodologies relevant for neoepitope identification
• Translate sequencing-based findings into clinically relevant and actionable information, such as the impact of genomic attributes to neoepitope treatment
• Contribute to the analysis of our clinical trial findings

Your profile

You have a PhD level education in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or similar. You are an expert in cancer genomics and have extensive experience with somatic variant calling and analysis of genomic data in general. Specifically, you are:

• Experienced with WES and exome mapping (3+ years)
• Experienced with SNV calling (3+ years)
• Passionate, proactive and a motivated team-player
• Experienced with Linux operating systems (1+ year)
• Experienced with bioinformatic programming (3+ years)
• Understanding of cancer biology
• Experienced with indels calling (1+ year)
• Experienced with RNA sequencing data analysis (advantage but not required)
• Understanding of sequencing technologies
