Open Positions

Who we are

We are sitting in a shared office space with software startups, architects and even a beer distribution company. The environment is highly creative, and we have bought a 3D printer along with a lot of fun prototyping equipment for speaker building. We are also equipped with projector, TV and whiteboard.

Every day we eat lunch together (most of the co-working space) and sometimes we end the lunch with a 10 minute round of Gang Beasts on the PS4 in the office. Are you up for the challenge?

Q&A with Villads Sørensen

Co-Founder @ SOWA Speakers

What are your plans for the future?

Our plan is to develop 8x functional prototypes of our wireless digital speaker system during 2019. These prototypes should help os land pre-sales and attract venture capital.

Why did you become an entrepreneur?

We are currently two entrepreneurs by heart. We have worked on multiple startups in the past, but have now dedicated our hearts and souls to SOWA.

Aside from achieving commercial success, what do you see as your startup’s mission?

We want to enable people to have better events. Large beach parties or weddings in the middle of the dessert are suddenly possible, when you are not restricted by a power outlet. Why not throw a bunch of speakers onto the swan-boats in the Copenhagen lakes during Distortion? We simply want people to throw extraordinary events.

Describe your perfect day at work.

We have a bunch of partners for manufacturing. A perfect day consists of efficient meetings that are fruitful and clearly shows progress. Building speakers or modding them in CAD can also be a true joy. But the best of it all is when people can't hold back their enthusiasm for the product you show them!

What is your best advice for entrepreneurs who are just starting out?

I walked around three years waiting for the great idea. It didn't come. Then I started a hopeless poster-shop which obviously turned out to be a disaster. Nevertheless, the act of starting my first business led me to tons of new ideas, and I have now co-founded 4 companies. So in short: don't wait for a great idea. Go with the best one you have, even if it sucks. It will lead you to better ideas in the future.
