About the Job:

The Content Writer Intern will work closely with the Growth & Business Development department to build upon GoBoat’s partner website. We are seeking an individual with strong skills in storytelling, blogging, proofreading, and SEO to increase our traffic flow. Someone who is passionate about the water and the maritime industry yet has a knack for business is an advantage. You will work closely with our Head of Business Development and assist in various large and small tasks focusing on building and promoting our partner resources. The internship is 3-6 months.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Create content marketing campaigns to drive leads and subscribers. Use SEO best practices to generate traffic to our GoBoat Partners site

• Actively manage and promote our blog, and pitch articles to relevant third-party platforms

• Edit content produced by other members of the team

• Analyze content marketing metrics and makes changes as needed

• Collaborate with other departments and partners to create innovative content ideas

• Research industry-related topics on maritime, boat rentals, etc (combining online sources, interviews and studies)

• Write clear marketing content that promotes GoBoat and gives insight to our Brand

• Prepare well-structured drafts using Squarespace

• Proofread and edit blog posts before publication

• Submit work for input and approval

• Coordinate with marketing and design teams to illustrate articles as needed

• Conduct simple keyword research and use SEO guidelines to increase web traffic

• Promote content on social media like LinkedIn, Pinterest, Quora, etc.

• Identify customers’ needs and gaps in our content and recommend new topics

• Ensure all-around consistency (style, fonts, images and tone) that fit our GoBoat Brand

• Update website content as needed

• Other Ad Hoc tasks as necessary

About you:

Not afraid to take initiatives, come up with new ideas and methods that can push the work to the next level. You must be ambitious and creative.

Specific qualifications and competencies:

• Strong passion and interest in content writing

• Familiarity with sales and understanding of the sales cycle to attract leads

• Great English capabilities both orally and in writing

• Hardworking and wanting to achieve results

• Strong literature and storytelling abilities

• Professional experience is an advantage

• Interest in GoBoat and the maritime experience

• Basic technical skills in Office suite, Squarespace and new tech tools
