Evaxion Biotech is growing fast as we attempt to revolutionize the cancer treatment regime using our immunoinformatics platforms, and we are seeking an experienced Preclinical Manager with strong expertise in the immuno-oncology area to join our research efforts in target validation and drug discovery. The successful candidate will work closely with our immuno-oncology team in the development and delivery of truly personalized neo- epitope cancer vaccines.

You will be working across the drug discovery and preclinical development continuum designing, executing and directing development; you will be qualifying and validating various immunoassays and animal tumor models for immuno- oncology vaccine trial testing. Your top priority will be to investigate methods to improve the detection and quantitation of immunological responses to targeted immunogens employed for potential vaccines. You will participate in discussions with project leaders and project teams concerning specific project-related data analysis and discuss future directions of projects with top management.

The responsibilities 

• Designing experiments and experimental procedures and scientific reports
• Designing, planning, and coordinating the analysis of preclinical studies
• Ensuring scientifically correct and state-of-the-art approaches, and participating in the development and implementation of new technologies (to characterize cancer vaccines)
• Coordinating and supervising lab activities
• Ensuring fit-for-purpose Quality and Compliance
• Presenting scientific findings and developed technologies in meetings and reports and publishing relevant articles in scientific journals
• Carrying out issue analysis

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in immunology, cancer immunology or related discipline
• Clear understanding of immunological mechanisms and disease-relevant model systems
• Adept at independently designing, executing and interpreting experiments with minimum supervision
• Experience with in vitro/ex vivo immuno-profiling techniques and mouse tumor models
• Strong international experience with familiarity of US/EU CROs and academia
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English
• You are passionate, proactive and motivated team-player
