Junior Data Engineer / Back-end - Unpaid Student Internship

Requirements:

Handle common database procedures, such as scraping, identifying fields, creating queries, using automation tools.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Understanding of using scraper tools like iMacros, webscraper.io, or Octoparse
Strong proficiency in MySQL + SQL + Mongo database management
Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL
Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL + Python statements
Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler, map integration, or feed
Ability to plan resource requirements from high level specifications
Familiarity with other databases such as MongoDB
Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases
Query fine tuning
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git

Extra Points for the Following:

Full stack experience with JavaScript and Node.js
Experience with iMacros, webscraper.io, or Octoparse
XPATH and writing a web-scraper in Java or any preferred language
Programming experience in building high quality software. Skills with Java, Python or Scala preferred
Proficiency in Hadoop, Kafka, Spark and MPP/No SQL databases in a large scale environment
Schema Design – working with Application/Development team
Export and Import of Data to and From MongoDB, Run time configuration of MongoDB.
Coursework and/or experience developing software in the .NET Framework
Coursework and/or experience with C#, ASP.NET Web Forms, and MVC
