About Abzu

Abzu is an applied research startup founded in February 2018 with offices in Copenhagen, Denmark and Barcelona, Spain. Our vision is to develop a technology capable of delivering the promise of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

About the job

We would love to find a talented Machine Learning Expert to join our office in Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark. We are looking for a person who is familiar with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques like reinforcement learning as well as semi-supervised and unsupervised learning, and who has a particularly strong interest in the underlying algorithms and the mathematical aspects of the craft.

Based on your strong mathematical and scientific skills, you will participate in developing the core algorithms and principles on which the Abzu Platform is built. Together with the rest of the team, you will implement and experiment with these algorithms in practice on our high performance cluster.

You will also play an important part in disseminating the learnings from Abzu through articles and give presentations at conferences and meetings. You will be based at our Kgs. Lyngby office, but you should be willing to travel and spend significant periods of time at our office in central Barcelona.

In order to find Abzu interesting, you should probably be passionate about the potential of Artificial General Intelligence and have an interest in Philosophy of Mind.

Required Skills and Experience

• PhD or Masters Degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar
• Advanced programming in Python
• Using data science and statistical software packages such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, Statsmodels and others
• Using Deep Learning packages, such as TensorFlow, Torch, or Theano
• Broad understanding of contemporary approaches to neural networks - standard, convolutional, and recurrent models.
• Knowledge about learning approaches: supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised learning
• Knowledge about reinforcement learning and evolutionary strategies
