Here at Tendo we are developing a soft robotics gripping aid, an exoskeleton, which aims to improve the life of people suffering from limitations due to e.g. arthritis, age, an injury, or stroke. Your work will be within mechanics with a focus on fine mechanics, usability and ergonomics. Size and weight optimization is of great importance for a truly wearable product.


What´s Tendo? 

Tendo is a soft robotic exoskeleton with intelligent sensors that detects and enhances your grip with the help of artificial muscles. It covers the thumb, index finger and forearm and it’s equipped with soft artificial tendons and smart sensors detecting when you are about to grasp an object and applies the requested strength to your grip.

Tendo creates greater independence for people suffering from limitations due to e.g. arthritis, an injury, stroke or age and results in an improved self-image and quality of life as well as a reduces need of assistance from the community and family. Tendo is worn almost like a glove and enables a strong grip in more or less all everyday situations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently looking for interns who are interested in mechanical engineering with a passion for fine mechanics within mechatronics. Other area of importance is ergonomics of the product and also the usability for the user.

Tendo is one of five companies working from the Odense Robotics StartUp Hub so you will be working from a EU-certified Golden Labelled cluster within the awesome field of robotics.

You will be working closely with our team in a fun and inspiring environment and your main focus will be on mechanical design, prototyping and testing.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Someone who likes to work independently and with own responsibilities and you won't back down from a challenge

• You should be proficient in 3D modeling software (we’re using Creo Parametrics, but that’s not a requirement).

• It’s a BIG PLUS if you’re a hands-on person and good at visualise and execute your ideas.

• Another plus is if you’re good at FEA calculations of mechanical details/assemblies.

• You are excited to be a part of for the start-up life

• You are probable a student from an education within the field of Technology

• You speak English or Swedish, Danish is a plus


PRACTICAL DETAILS:

• We are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible, 31 st of October at the latest.

• You will mainly be working from Forskerparken 10 in Odense but some flexibility exists if you prefer to work from distance

• The Internship is an unpaid learning experience for a minimum of 1 month

• Flexible hours, let us know in the application if you intend to work full time or as extra support
