BalancAir is a medtech and digital health startup developing a new generation of novel, digital enabled, consumer devices for treatment of a range of neurological disorders. We are currently looking for a high performing, skilled and driven graphical, UI, UX designer that want to join our fast growing team of experienced entrepreneurs and lead the charge in designing a visual identify for our company as well as help create the perfect user experience in our apps and on our website.

We are looking for a talented, UI and graphical designer with experience in UX design, who can lead the charge in designing a beautiful, human-centered product and help shape the brand and visual identity of the company and our communication.

As a user-obsessed UI designer, you will be responsible for taking complex problems and crafting simple, easy to use, and beautiful solutions. You will have to enjoy taking on new challenges and working across a range of different areas from UI/UX design of our mobile and web apps, to thumbnails on our YouTube videos, to classic graphical design for use in our instruction manuals and printed advertisements.

As an early joiner and first designer in the company you will be right in the middle of the action and work closely with strategy, marketing and engineering to help find the optimal solutions for the product and company, but you might also have to personally lead potential collaboration with external design agencies.

What you will be doing:

• Participate in concept development and design ideation as part of a small team
• Help ideate, shape and take ownership of the visual identity and brand of the company and product
• Develop design concepts for our mobile (iOS, Android) and web applications
• Together with marketing, be responsible for the creation of designs for our online advertisements, blog posts and well as for traditional printed media including our instructions for use, advertisement flyers, etc.
• Document a design language and style guide and ensure it is enforced and consistent in our brand and visual communication across all channels
• Lead the communication and work with potential design agencies and/or freelancers

What you bring:

• Driven, passionate, and organized person who acts with integrity and delivers as promised
• Knowledge and understanding of user-centered design techniques and principles
• A great eye for design and obsess over UI design
• A solid portfolio of user-centered UI and UX design work for web, mobile and preferably also offline media. (Please include a link to your portfolio in your cover letter or CV)
• Experience conducting design research
• Knowledge of UX best practices and up to date with the latest design trends
• Proficiency designing and prototyping with leading design tools such as Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, InVision, and Sketch.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly explain design choices
• Ability to scope design initiatives accurately and prioritize work items appropriately
• Experience with front-end programming, animation and prototyping a plus!
• Fluent in English. Highly proficient in both spoken and written Danish is a plus, but not a requirement!
