Portchain is seeking a best-in-class UI Designer with a strong foundation in User Experience, design thinking and problem solving. You will head up the UX and UI of our product work streams across desktop and mobile devices. Working closely with the Head of Product and development team to ensure everything we produce is setting the bar high and competing at a global level for digital product design.

Duties and responsibilities

• Execute all visual design stages, helping to hand-off assets and work in a loop of continuous design improvement
• Create pixel-perfect UI design work with an understanding of scaling interfaces and differing interaction techniques
• Collaborate with product management and the development team to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
• Conceptualise original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
• Present defendable design work to peers and executive level stakeholders
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
• Evaluating our existing applications and evaluating their UX effectiveness
• Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback

Role requirements

• 3-5+ years experience in UI and User Experience Design roles
• Work on-site in our Copenhagen office (you will either live here, or be willing to relocate)
• Portfolio of sample projects highlighting design for web and mobile applications
• Experience with modern UI development tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma or similar
• The ability to self-motivate and work autonomously towards a set goal within a larger team
• Proven experience showing clear understanding of the intersection between user needs, technology requirements, and business goals
• Ability to think creatively around a problem while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Business-minded approach to time, costs and deadlines

Experience a plus

• Knowledge of front-end UI development processes (CSS etc)
• Experience with UI animation software such as Principle, Anima or similar
• Digital Marketing experience
