Landfolk is looking for a highly-skilled, innovative and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our product team. 

Founded in February 2021 by seven ex-Airbnb colleagues, Landfolk is an online marketplace for handpicked holiday homes in Denmark, Norway, Germany and Sweden. Based in Aarhus, our mission is to help people get out of town. Closer to nature and each other.

As we continue to scale our product, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer based in or around Aarhus.

Our tech team build product features and aims to provide the best user experience. This is an opportunity to make your mark on Europe's most ambitious platform for premium holiday homes.

What the technical platform looks like

Our frontend is a Next.js application that communicates with our Ruby on Rails API using GraphQL. We use Postgres as database and run on Kubernetes on Digital Ocean. Our Rails application is fully typed with Sorbet and tested with rspec. 

What your days and responsibilities would look like

• Developing and maintaining our Ruby on Rails backend application
• Writing maintainable code with high quality
• Evaluating technical approaches and architecting solutions 
• Reviewing PRs
• Managing projects and coordinating work with the rest of the product team in bi-weekly product planning sessions

What you will bring to the role

• Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails 
• Experience in building and scaling a high-quality product

• Passionate about delivering products end-to-end: from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation
• You thrive on being part of the early stages of rapid development, in an environment where you have the opportunity to take on new challenges
• You are self-motivated, skilled at structuring your workday, and eager to take ownership of tasks to ensure the best outcome
• Fluent in English, Danish is a plus

The practical

The position is full-time and you can work some days from home or our office in Aarhus. To have some face-to-face time the tech team generally strive to work from the office on Fridays. We're looking for the right person to join our team as soon as possible.
