About CareerToGo

CareerToGo wants to disrupt and innovate how job-portals work. Forget the long list of irrelevant jobs that you have to scroll through at the big jobpotals. Forget about the old ways of reading job-post and writing applications. Why not gamify the entire experience so young students can learn about their future employer without it being boring. Through Tasks, Quizzes, Questionaries and event, we want to enable the informal contact between students and companies.

We want to make the search for jobs and a good career truly engaging and fun for young students. We think that searching for jobs should be a process filled with excitement for the future, not the current boring process that nobody likes.

The Job and tasks:

We are searching for a Back-end developer that wants to join our small DevOps team. You will work on a variety of tasks, depending on which skills you currently have and and which you want to become better at/learn. The tasks could be:  

• Extraction and analysis of data from the database to better understand user behaviour.
• Improve our match-making algorithm by tweaking it or adding variables and parameters to make it more accurate.
• Develop and Implement our backlog of awesome features and functions (into good DRY code)
• Usability and accessibility testing
• Building a structure that will enable machine learning at some time

Your qualifications:

• Must have:         experience with JavaScript
• Must have:         experience with Node.js and working with Git
• Must have:         experience with MongoDB
• Nice-to-have:    experience with AWS
• The ability to take ownership and responsibility of your work and follow features from beginning to end.
• You get great responsibility from the start, but of course work in close collaboration with the team and your CTO to ensure that you are always learning, and getting help if you get stuck in a task that google cannot help you with.
