CCO - Chief Commercial Officer

The situation Safe Online is a young Danish company that helps organisations stay compliant with Article 20 and more of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Established November 2016 and based in Copenhagen Denmark, Safe Online offers a unique solution that ensures data transfers from company-to-user-to- company in a secure, documented, transparent and compliant way. Our customers are organisations within both the public and private sector.

Areas of responsibility The person holding the position as Chief Commercial Officer (“CCO”) will be responsible for Safe Online’s overall commercial development. The CCO will drive development and execution of a commercial strategy for an early stage software for all products from Safe Online, among others: Safe Profile. The CCO will also build a commercial infrastructure and organization to drive market adoption of the company’s product(s) and be responsible for revenue growth within the organization.

The CCO will after the domestic launch take a global perspective on market opportunities and lead the expansion and prioritization of geographic markets.

The role includes:

  • Develop and implement the company’s sales strategy and clear commercial path to initial aggressive growth and profitability of the company including
    • A clear definition of the pricing strategy within corporate guidelines
    • An increase in number of customers - both through direct sales (from Safe Online to the customer) and sales (new customers) via our Partner network
    • Growth in the number of licenses and users within our customers
  • Define the establishment of an effective Sales and Marketing infrastructure – both internal and external - including
    • Building a strong Commercial Sales- and Marketing team ready for the
    • acceleration of growth o Building and managing a partner network capable of delivering on the
    • company’s growth objectives o Development of collaborative working relationships within the
    • organisation in pursuit of the of the company’s overall business goals
  • Lead development of the company’s marketing strategy with an emphasis on achieving domestic market acceptance, penetration and sales growth with emphasis on GDPR compliance and market demand generation
  • Ensure that commercial practices support requisite financial reporting and/or legislative requirements, and corporate ethics / values, without exception

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and people skills to engage and secure motivation and passion
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful commercialization strategies in early-stage companies
  • Strong record of managing and motivating internal commercial team and Partners
  • Strong and demonstrated strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to drive the formulation and implementation of a marketing and PR strategy through partnership with agencies
  • The commercial background, experience and creativity to develop non- traditional solutions to complex business challenges
  • Outstanding sales management skills
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • A structured approach and at the same time possessing the ability to be hands-on as well strategic at the same time
  • A motivation and ability to operate in a small organisation where job tasks and responsibilities sometimes can be mixed across persons to secure tasks handling and progress for the benefit of the company
  • GDPR knowledge
  • Ideally digital & tech experience to have a good understanding of the Digital & Tech space, with an understanding of the Software market
  • Excellent communication skills are important both internally and externally for investors, partners, agencies and customers

Main Challenges The main and initial challenge needing full attention from the CCO, is to

  • develop a strong and stable sales strategy for a “blue ocean” product. We are
  • dependant on immediate growth and a market acceptance from day one.

The Organisation aspires to grow rapidly and are seeking further funding in the market to support the growth to go international within the first year.

The CCO will have to accommodate for these ambitions and for the international scope. There is a need for a strong focus, known vision, mission and clear goals. It is paramount that we keep the focus on the application development roadmap and that the CCO, at the same time, develop a strong sales strategy for the organisation and establish strong strategic partnerships with external parties, customers, IT providers and investors.

Reports The CCO reports to the CEO of Safe Online ApS.
