The Data Company is looking for an experienced data mining / scientist to join our tech team. This role is ideal for somebody who is passionate about machine learning, automation and profiling, and who wants to use their skills to have a real impact on a product that’s used by a growing customer base. You are an ambitious and independent developer who enjoys working on all levels and with different stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Hands-on development of the platform and tools
- Design and create examples and concepts for new features
- Ensure technical feasibility, scalability and compliance
- Work closely with team as technology adviser to help guide project scope
- Demonstrate effective communication with fellow team members and management
- Rapidly prototype ideas in order to learn what works and how to elevate concepts to the next level
- Mining data from public and third-party APIs
- Integrating data mining services with our back-end or web apps
- Creating small web apps, APIs or CLIs to access data.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Strong proficiency with .NET / C#, SQL Server and Azure
- Experience writing code from scratch
- Experience testing, debugging and deploying work into testing, staging and production environments
- Thrive in a fast-paced working environment, owning deadlines and striving for efficiency
- Familiarity with Bitbucket, Trello, or similar project management and issue tracking software
- Working knowledge of design principles, data storage, machine learning standards and frameworks
- Love working hands-on and focus on executing tasks
- More than 1-year of experience with any programming language
EXTRA POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING
- Knowledge of analytics and experience implementing and testing machine learning models and algorithms
- Studying or has a degree in Computer Science or similar area.
- Experience with Python
- Experience with WebApi
- Experience with Angular and Bootstrap
- Social Media and API integrations (eg. webhooks)
