We are searching for a data journalism intern digging deep into technology- and consumer trends working side by side with our data science team to create great insights for our customers. If you enjoy analysing latest technologies such as blockchain or autonomous driving beyond the surface and if you were always curious to learn how artificial intelligence actually works in real life–this is your chance!

YOUR ROLE

As a data journalist intern you will…

• research on latest technology- and consumer trends (e.g. new use cases of blockchain)
• learn and apply data journalism techniques
• write data-driven research that combine our data sets with outside data to come up with interesting insight on technology trends and markets.
• write articles based on AI generated trend detections and statistics
• work closely together with data scientists on various experiments: you will support them with interpretation on AI generated results, which is crucial to improve “human readability” of detected trends.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Intellectual curiosity and a demonstrable passion for tech trends and innovation
• Writing experience – preferably within the fields of market research, tech or innovation
• Basic understanding of Excel or equivalent
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Knowledge of basic data manipulation and/or statistical skills
• Self-initiative and independence
• Positive “can-do” attitude and strong work ethics

EXTRA POINTS IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING (not required)

• Basic understanding of one or more programming languages, such as Python
• Experience in writing data-driven articles and reports

PRACTICAL DETAILS

• Starting date: September / October 2017
• The Internship is an unpaid learning experience for a minimum of 3 months
• Minimum of 15h/week, flexible working times.
