We are looking for a senior developer who can write code, architect solutions, scale our setup and build our organisation and platform.

Senior Developer

Fromtu is poised to change the way Africa trades with the world. We are a well funded startup based in Copenhagen and Nairobi building an online marketplace to simplify trade in and out of Africa. 

Although wholly owned by Maersk, we are a separate entity and sit outside the corporate governance. We run agile, lean and have a lot of fun along the way.

We are currently in pilot mode (see more on www.fromtu.com), while we’re applying agile development to further build the platform and grow our network of buyers and suppliers. The pilot is focusing on Kenyan suppliers and exports. Once we reach product-market fit, we will expand to the East African region and beyond.

To play a central role in all of this, we need a senior developer who can help us:

• Build our platform (we are rocking React and Node.js, using Heroku)
• Work with our current vendor to gradually (fully or partially) insource development
• Architect our platform with the external vendor and our Chief Product Officer
• Foster an agile culture with a handful of people (product owner, designer etc.) from diverse backgrounds (the Danes form a minority in our setup)
• Help figure out how we scale the quality, architecture and culture as the team grows significantly
