We are growing and so is our roster of speakers - that’s why our event team need help keeping track of all these people going on stage. So if you are up to the challenge of both inviting speakers but also taking care of more menial jobs associated with that part of the oldest and largest tech and innovation summit in Denmark, then here is your chance!
TechBBQ is the largest and oldest tech entrepreneurship event with almost 6 years under the belt, going from a beta conference at the Copenhagen Stock Exchange in 2013 to 4000 guests at Øksnehallen in 2017.
We aim to further tech entrepreneurship and innovation in Denmark as well as get Denmark and the Nordics on the map as an important European innovations hub. We are the annual event where everyone from the environment meet, celebrate the successes, learn from the failures, nurse established network and make new ones. Every strong entrepreneurial hub has its flagship event - and TechBBQ is ours.
As speaker Assistant you will be an integral part of the team and get to work in close collaboration with our Head of Events.
This is a volunteer position of 20 hrs/w, but we can look into the opportunities of this being an internship.
Your tasks will primarily be:
- Contact with international speakers
- Research
- Maintenance of speakers list
- Updating the programme
- Generating an overview of people flying in
- Generating an estimate of flight costs
- Liaise with people flying in in regards to booking of flights
- Booking flights
- Support to our Head of Events
- Development of segments
- Make suggestions of speakers and segments
We are looking for you who…
- have event experience (desired)
- can put together a great text
- work well under pressure
- can keep an overview of a complex web of speakers (and possibly stages and satellite events)
- can work with a minimum of supervision and instruction
- is fluent in English, writing and speech (essential)
- is fluent in Danish, writing and speech (desired)

Work hours are primarily within ordinary working hours (Mon-Fri 9-17), but up to and during the event, longer hours and weekend work must be expected.
